On Board a Plane

(S – stewardess, T – traveler)

S: T: S: T: S: T: S: T: S: T: S: T: S: T: S: Are you comfortable, sir? Yes, quite. Could I have a newspaper, please? Here it is. Will you have some chewing-gum or peppermint now? Some peppermint, please. I may feel a bit sick during the take-off. Dear passengers, fasten your seat belts, will you? The plane is going off. Sorry to trouble you. Can you help me with it? No trouble at all. Is it your first flight? It is my first international flight. The previous ones were domestic. By the way, the plane has already taken off. I can see the runway lights down. Yes, we are having a rather smooth take off. It's getting a bit rough. My ears are beginning to ache me. Would you mind lowering the back of my seat a little? Of course, is that better or shall I bring you something for air-sickness? No thank you. It's better. OK. On board a plane we'll be served hot meal and some drinks. If you want something else, let me know. And don't forget to fill in landing card. Certainly, thank you for help. It was my pleasure.

If you've arrived by plane, the next thing to do is to get your luggage. Follow the signs to Baggage Reclaim and wait until you see your flight number. Keep your luggage with you till you are asked the label.

Go through the Customs. This is the place where officials may search your luggage. There are two channels (passages) for travelers. Those who have more quantity of things than it is allowed to bring must go through the red channel. They have to pay duty (special tax). People with no things to declare go through the green channel without paying duty. You can also buy some things at duty-free shops which are not taxed.
