* Master emphasizes the proper maintenance, handling and operation of ship's equipment to the Officers.

* Chief-Officer supervises all cargo operations, controls the condition of hull, cargo holds, tanks covers, mooring equipment, ballast operations, crude oil washing operations, venting systems; gas control .

* Second-Officer leads the watch-keeping during cargo operations.

* Third- Officer deputises for the Second-Officer when necessary, and leads the watchkeeping during cargo operations.

* Chief-Engineer Officer supervises the procedures with oil and all oily mixtures in Engine Room and ensures the proper maintenance of installed equipment:

 

- oily water separating/filtering equipment shall be workable (proper maintenance and use);

- oil discharge monitoring equipment shall be workable;

- bunkering of oil fuel and lubricants;

- oily water discharge/transfer procedures;

- transfer of any accumulated oil residues.

 

* Second-Engineer Officer assumes responsibility for the operation of ballasting system. Third- Engineer Officer assumes special responsibility for the operation of pumping, storage, transfer and purification of all kinds of fuel and lubricants, as well as bunkering system maintenance (dry-cargo ships) and makes entries in Oil Record Book Part 1.

 

* Fourth- Engineer Officer operates of all the environment pollution protective equipment in Engine Room and assumes the operations of pumping, storage, and transfer of all kinds of oily water and oily mixtures and makes entries in Oil Record Book Part 1.

6.Documentation

 

* International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate, including Supplement to the International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate as Form A and Form B, and Endorsement for Annual and Intermediate Surveys.

* International Pollution Prevention Certificate for the Carriage of Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk, including the Endorsement for Annual and Intermediate Surveys.

* Oil Record Book Part I and Part 11.

* Cargo Record Book for ships carrying noxious liquid substances in bulk.

* Type Test Certificate on oily-mixture separating or filtering equipment.

* Type Test Certificate on oil content meter.

* Type Test Certificate on interface detector.

* Operating manual on oil discharge monitoring and control system, approved by the Administration.

* Operational instructions books for equipment.

* Operational manuals on cargo, loading/unloading, crude oil washing, tanks cleaning procedures.
